Lulu Li & Yoo Rara
Flute, clarinet in Bb, marimba, rain stick, wind chimes, glockenspiel(2 percussionists), violin, cello, double bass
YooRara and Lulu create an immersive installation where sculpture and sound converge to explore the sea as a metaphor for womanhood. Together, they build a space that evokes an underwater world—filled with memories, movement, and invisible feminine spirits.
YooRa’s installation evokes the form of ancient relics hidden deep beneath the sea, exploring layers of memory and time. Inspired by Korean and Chinese wish papers, the work contains folded notes that hold wishes, dreams, and forgotten stories—especially the voices of women. Within the egg-shaped sculpture rests a poem dedicated to the sea.
Lulu’s original chamber composition seeks to capture the sea’s shifting colors and emotions—from transparent green to deep indigo, from warmth to chill, from serenity to rage. Through layered textures, evolving timbres, and rhythmic breath, the music reflects the ocean’s pulse.
